2010 Lexus LX 570

For 2010, the Lexus LX 570 receives numerous new standard features, especially to its base model, including larger wheels, heated and cooled seats, heated second-row seats, and the wide-view front and side camera monitor that was previously part of an option package. Both models also receive the latest version of Lexus' navigation system, a USB connector, customizable settings, and rear hatch privacy glass.

Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser, a model not sold in Canada, the LX 570 uses a 5.7-litre V8 engine, mated to a heavy-duty six-speed transmission with manual shift mode. It uses a full-time four-wheel drive system with electro-hydraulic suspension, Active Height Control and Variable Suspension. It lowers the chassis by an average of five cm for easy entry and exit, and resumes its normal height when the vehicle accelerates; it also lowers it at highway speeds for extra stability.

Standard features include 20-inch alloy wheels, four-zone automatic climate control, power tilt and telescopic wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary jack and USB input, Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio, heated and cooled perforated leather seats with ten-way driver and eight-way passenger power adjustment, driver's side memory, 40/20/40 split-folding heated rear seats, power-folding third-row 50/50 seats, auto up/down windows, rear privacy glass, voice-activated hard-disc-drive navigation system, wide-view front and side monitor system, eight-inch LCD display, backup camera, electroluminescent gauges, trip computer, multi information display, auto-dimming rearview mirror, premium illuminated entry system, rear step bumper, roof rails with crossbars, power sunroof, towing hitch with seven-pin trailer wire harness, illuminated running boards, roof-mounted spoiler, auto-dimming power-folding heated mirrors with puddle lamps and reverse auto-tilt, variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers, wiper de-icer, rear wiper/washer, automatic adaptive headlamps with washers, fog lamps, rear seat side airbags, first-aid kit, LED taillamps, tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, garage door opener, Smart Key system, and 115-volt power outlet.

The optional Ultra Premium Package adds 450-watt Mark Levinson surround sound system, rear-seat DVD entertainment system with remote control, six-DVD changer, dynamic radar cruise control, front console cool box, illuminated "Lexus" scuff plates, pre-collision system, premium leather seat surfaces, African Bubinga wood trim, and unique alloy wheel finish.

The LX 570 is almost ridiculously comfortable, with beautifully-finished interior, creamy ride and nimble handling, but thanks to its Land Cruiser roots, its four-wheel drive system can get it through just about anything. The front and side monitor displays an image of the ground in front and on the passenger side of the vehicle at speeds under 12 km/h on the in-dash navigation screen for easier parking.
